Annalise Real Bride: Katie and Cody Studer

We help dozens of brides each week find their dream dress, so you’d think that there’s not too many situations we haven’t witnessed. Well, we thought so too… until one of our own bridal consultants started her wedding dress journey. And that is where this blog post begins.

Katie was there from the very beginning. The second we had our shop opening she insisted that she could help out on the weekends and as a new, small business of course we welcomed her go-getter attitude & excitement with open arms. Since this sweet gal was here from the get go she had literally seen every dress that had come into the store and tried on a good portion of those dresses. We knew it would be a little more challenging to find a dress for her, but we did our due diligence. We scouted out dresses at market she may like and forced her to have an actual appointment, just like any other bride that we help. It was at that appointment that Katie came across a dress that blew her away and ironically had been there from the very beginning… just like her.

Katie recalls, “Ironically, the dress had been in the store since we opened, and it was probably one of the select few that I had never slipped on. When I stepped out to show my family and friends, I fell in love with all of the details that I had somehow overlooked: the scalloped lace, the contrasting colors and the fit. Once Emily slipped on my favorite sparkle belt and veil, I had that bridal moment everyone always talks about and knew it was the dress that I had to wear down the aisle”.

So there you have it… we had the dress, but since Katie was not your typical bride it didn’t just stop at the dress. We got to be with her every step of the day including the wedding day!

Katie is a DIY kind of girl so many of the small details of her wedding day did not go unnoticed as we heard all about the painting, acrylic, and paper folding nights! She did an outstanding job on making her wedding day unique and all about the two of them and her creative and artistic ability allowed her to do so.

The venue was so romantic with gardens, brick walkways, string lights, and even a “tunnel of love”.  There were many indoor and outdoor spaces to explore and sit to have a drink. They even put out some yard games on the lawn which complimented their fun and easy going personalities.

Katie and Cody laughed their way through the ceremony staying true to who they are as a couple. It was very sweet to see them smiling and giggling but still as if they were the only ones there. Katie’s brother, Jack, officiated the wedding which made for a very emotional and personal ceremony bringing tears to everyone’s eyes I’m sure! It was perfect in everyway and topping it off it was the most pleasant June day I can remember in years!

Their reception was full of love, great food (of course!), and dancing the night away. You could just see the relief on both of their faces that their day was finally here and how comforted they were with all their loved ones in that one space. It was really something special!

After her big day, we asked Katie what she was thinking about & what made her glow that entire day. Katie explained, “Honestly, I kept thinking about how happy and how lucky we were to be surrounded by our family and closest friends. We had the perfect day: the weather was 80° and sunny, everyone was in a good mood, the DJ played Rocky Top twice, and the whole event went off without a hitch”.

Now that you’ve lived through the entire day, we’ll leave you with one more nugget of wisdom from Mrs. Studer. We asked her what her biggest piece of advice would be now that she’s helped brides & been a bride herself. “The biggest advice that I have is that once you find something you love and make a decision, stop looking!” This statement is something we encourage our brides to do all the time. Once you’ve found something you love, why torture yourself with the thousands of options out there? Katie explains, “We’re so lucky to live in a time where there is so much wedding inspo and so many creative ideas, but that can also make it very hard to not second guess your decisions. Thankfully, my now-husband and mom kept me on track by constantly reminding me why we had made certain choices, and it all turned out perfectly in the end!” You can see just how perfectly it did turn out in the gallery below!

We wouldn’t feel right ending this blog post any other way than congratulating the newly married couple! It’s so evident the love you two have for each other and we are so thankful you allowed us to celebrate this special step in your journey. Katie, you light up every room you walk into & we’re so proud of the woman you have become. Thank goodness wedding planning didn’t make you tired of wedding dresses… we have so many more brides to help!
