We’re excited to help you navigate your wedding dress timeline questions!
If you’ve already selected your wedding venue, chances are your wedding date is set!
If you haven’t picked a venue yet, we do usually recommend doing so first, as your wedding date may impact what wedding dresses you’re able to shop.
How long does it take for a wedding dress to come in?
Most wedding dresses take 4-6 months to come in. This range can fluctuate slightly depending on holidays, shipping delays, and if you are ordering a custom wedding gown.
When should I buy my wedding dress?
Since bridal dresses take 4-6 months in production and you’ll want another 2-3 months in alterations, we recommend shopping for your wedding dress a minimum of 8 months in advance.
If you are able to give yourself a cushion, we always recommend doing so. Purchasing your wedding dress 8-12 months out from your wedding date is perfect timing. This bridal timeline will ensure that you are able to shop every designer in our bridal collection.
It should also give you a bit of wiggle room in case any unexpected delays occur.
How to get a wedding dress fast?
Are you less than 8 months away from your wedding day? If so, we have a handful of designers that offer rushes for an additional fee.
Another option for getting a wedding dress fast is finding a sample wedding dress. We have a small selection of off-the-rack samples we sell on a first come, first served basis.
These sample wedding dresses are ideal because you can take them home the same day as your appointment and immediately begin the alterations process.
We regularly feature our off-the-rack wedding dress samples on sale on our Instagram feed. If you are looking for a discounted designer wedding dress or want to find affordable wedding dresses, make sure to follow us!
How far in advance should you buy a veil?
Most wedding accessories take a much shorter time to come in than wedding dresses.
While some brides prefer to purchase their veil at their initial bridal appointment, that isn’t always the case.
If making a decision on your bridal accessories feels overwhelming and you have plenty of time, it may be worth waiting for your pick up appointment. Some brides find it easier to shop for their wedding accessories once their actual wedding dress has arrived.
Most of our accessory and veil designers take anywhere from 2 weeks-2 months to arrive. Inquiring with your bridal stylist will be best in determining when you should purchase your bridal veil.
