Annalise Real Bride: Maggie & Mason Cantey

Ever get the feeling you may be fixating a little too much? Whether it’s over the perfectly folded napkins in every home & food magazine or daydreaming over those tall centerpieces that are more expensive, but seemingly too sleek to not buy. Yeah, we know the feeling and chances are if you’re in the midst of planning a wedding you do too. So we’ve reached out to an #AnnaliseRealBride in hopes that she can give you a little more insight into what to love & what to let go of!

Maggie was the sweetest bride & such a pleasure to work with. Her nature-filled wedding made for quite a magical day. From greenery to copper the little details were gorgeous, but if Maggie could go back and do it all again she wouldn’t let the little things become so big in her mind. The small details are of course breathtaking however, when issues arise it’s okay to take a breath and pick the next best thing. She explains, “It’s okay! Seriously, I haven’t talked to a single person who planned a wedding without a few hiccups”. These details don’t only apply to planning; dress shopping is also an area where an open mind can help immensely. We encourage that you do your research, whether that be scanning through designers, pinning real brides’ styles, & even trying on gowns. That being said, you could miss an amazing gown if you’re not willing to listen to your stylist (and heart of course)! Maggie explains, “I looked at quite a few designers online & used bridal magazines as a guide. When I began trying on dresses I had one in mind that I was sure I would end up getting married in, but when I finally tried it on it didn’t thrill me. I felt like I was at
a total loss, but it pushed me into trying a variety of styles and I ended up LOVING a dress I might not have ever tried on.”

So there you have it, sometimes the best moments are ones you don’t plan for… which more often than not is the best part of your wedding day. The best spontaneous moment from Maggie’s big day was an impromptu dance-off! “We took turns showing off our moves and everyone got really into it”. Our advice to you, don’t panic when small issues come up & when you can’t calm your nerves, think of all the in-the-moment memories you could miss by planning every minute.
