Keep reading for more details about this intimate and beautiful wedding at family home on Lake Erie.
Wedding at Family Home
Their beautiful property, right on Lake Erie in Ontario, was the perfect backdrop for a special day. “While it was a lot of work building the outdoor venue from scratch it was so incredibly worth it.” The ceremony and cocktail hour were held on the lawn right by the water. Following that they made their way over to the tennis courts for the reception. The courts had been beautifully decorated and converted into an enchanting outdoor venue. Complete with twinkling lights overhead and elegant table settings. Here, family and friends joined together for an unforgettable night of dancing, laughter, and joyful celebration, with the sounds of the nearby lake providing a perfect accompaniment to the evening’s festivities!
The Love Story
This beautiful couple began their journey in the vibrant city of Richmond, where they first crossed paths at the VCU Brandcenter in 2015. It was here, that their connection grew into a true Richmond love story. Over the years, they shared countless memories and experiences, growing closer with each passing day. After spending many wonderful years together, he chose the perfect moment to propose, orchestrating a romantic surprise at a concert in the picturesque Maymont Park. “He had talked to the staff and they let us in early, and we were the only ones in the gardens (other than our friends who were hiding in the trees, taking photos.)”
Finding the Perfect Gown
Choosing a dress is usually quite the process for a bride, but Elizabeth describes it as “It was the easiest thing ever! I had no idea what to expect”. We always ask brides for their Wedding Pinterest board to give us a good starting point. “My dress was the fourth or fifth I had tried on, and there was no competition.” She immediately knew! Elizabeth says she “felt so comfortable, beautiful, and myself in it. I guess I had pinned it 5 times without realizing it and just fell in love with it. I loved how timeless and elegant it was, but also had a unique twist with the fabric pattern and the straps.” Elizabeth wore the stunning ‘Mimosa’ gown by Alena Leena!
It’s All in the Details
The details of this wedding were absolutely everything! The carefully chosen color palette created a harmonious atmosphere, while the artfully arranged flowers added natural beauty throughout the venue. The elegant stationary tied the whole aesthetic together, and the bridesmaids looked stunning in their mismatched yet perfectly coordinated dresses. Every single detail, from the table settings to the ambient lighting, came together to create an unforgettable atmosphere. The day seemed to flow so effortlessly, with each moment transitioning seamlessly into the next. The bride offers this sage advice to future couples: “Don’t over-stress about all the little details, everything will fall into place.” And indeed it did, creating a celebration that felt both meticulously planned and naturally perfect.
