#AnnaliseRealBride Courtney and her now husband, David, had a beautiful summer wedding at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards.
“From start to finish, our wedding day was filled with so much love and joy. We were surrounded by the people we care about most, stunning hydrangeas, and the incredible work of our vendors. After being engaged and planning for a year and a half, living through the actual day was surreal.”
A Warm and Inviting Guest Experience
Pippin Hill is known for the beautiful scenery and iconic hydrangeas at the front entrance. The bride and groom made sure to enhance the natural beauty of their venue and add elements to create a relaxed and organic space for guests. “Our inspiration photos were of overgrown wildflowers, stone and ceramic vessels, and European garden parties to create our dream wedding vision board”
Courtney and David thought of every little detail for their guests including fans to keep them cool during a warm Virginia summer wedding day! “Our guest experience was something we thought about with every single decision that we made. It was important to us that our friends and family also felt comfortable and enjoyed the day as much as we did. Little details like having a fan for every guest at their seat or having a signature wedding scent were things we wanted to invest in”
The Love Story
This beautiful couples story began as co-workers at the same company where they became close friends. After David left the company, their relationship evolved and they have been together ever since! In December 2022, Courtney and David made their way to Germany to explore the festive Christmas Markets. Their trip took an unexpected turn!
“Germany had other plans for us! We found ourselves in the sweetest town of Tegernsee located on a beautiful lake and surrounded by the Bavarian Alps. At the summit, David surprised me with a proposal as we were overlooking the town below us! It was all such a surprise and he had also arranged for a photographer to capture the moment too! It had snowed the night before and so it was quite literally a winter wonderland moment for us”
Finding the Perfect Gown
After years of searching through wedding Pinterest boards and dreaming up your wedding gown, finding your dress is an exciting moment. Courtney knew she was looking for an off-the-shoulder wedding dress she could be comfortable in and feel like herself.
“Going dress shopping at Annalise was a special moment to share with my mom, grandma, and my now mother-in-law. The only detail I was sure of was that I wanted was an off-the-shoulder dress. Choosing Penny Flowy by Made With Love Bridal was no surprise to everyone. It was comfortable and had the most beautiful delicate beading. A detail I never expected to fall in love with”
It’s All in the Details
Finally, the details of this wedding were next level! From the color palette to the organic florals, their vision came together beautifully. It was also important to incorporate details into the day that reflected special memories and experiences the couple loves. The cocktail napkins were handwritten love letters between the couple. These notes were first exchanged between the two during their first months of dating.
Additionally, the couple opted out of a traditional wedding cake. “We chose a 32” wide millefoglie (a delicious custard, puff pastry, and fruit treat) and ice cream from Gelati Celesti (one of our first date locations)!
“We had an amazing family member transport 100 scopes of ice cream the morning of for us from Richmond to Charlottesville. The cart featured three flavors: a “his” pick, a “hers” pick, and a “Duke’s pick” — a special tribute to our dog, Duke!”
