I recently caught up with past bride Victoria to hear about her life after “I Do”. Victoria and her husband will be celebrating 6 years of marriage this October and have two beautiful children together.
Shortly after getting married, Victoria began a journey in entrepreneurship opening her styling company “Styled in Worth.”
It was so special to reconnect with Victoria after all these years as I was the bridal stylist who helped her pick-out her dress! I hope you enjoy learning more about Victoria and her wonderful local small business.
From Bride to Stylist: How One Wedding Dress Helped Shape a Calling
From Victoria:
On October 18, 2020, I married my husband, Steven. Like many brides, I spent months planning for one unforgettable day. What I didn’t know at the time was that some of the lessons I’d learn through my wedding dress journey would continue to shape my life long after the wedding was over.
Today, I’m the owner of Styled In Worth, where I help women discover confidence through Color Analysis, Style Analysis, Closet Edits, Makeup Lessons, and Personal Shopping. But the path to becoming a stylist began with a personal realization that came after I said “I do.”
Life After the Wedding
About a year into marriage, I found myself stuck in a style rut.
With so many local boutiques closed during the pandemic, I was shopping online more than ever. I ordered pieces that looked incredible on my closest friends and favorite influencers, only to find that they didn’t have the same effect on me.
After plenty of frustration and trial and error, I discovered something that changed everything: I was wearing clothes that simply weren’t designed for me.
That realization led me to Color Analysis. When I learned that the bright, clear, high-contrast colors of the Winter palette were my most flattering shades, it felt transformative. For the first time, I understood how powerful it is when clothing works with your natural features rather than against them.
What started as a personal breakthrough quickly became a passion. I pursued extensive training in Color Analysis, body architecture, clothing silhouettes, makeup application, and personalized styling. Today, through Styled In Worth, I have the privilege of helping women discover wardrobes that honor who they are and reflect their unique beauty.
Finding the Perfect Dress
Ironically, one of the earliest experiences that taught me this lesson happened while I was shopping for my wedding dress.
One detail mattered to me from the very beginning: the color. While many wedding gowns today lean toward ivory or soft champagne tones, I always envisioned myself wearing bright, stark, computer-paper white.
But finding the right dress involved more than finding the right color.
My favorite memory from dress shopping wasn’t actually trying on gowns, it was the incredible team at Annalise. Hannah and Emily helped me during my appointment, and they could tell I was getting close to finding my dress but hadn’t quite found “the one.”
Even before becoming a professional stylist, I was someone who liked to make my own decisions. I fully expected that I would be the one to identify my dress. Yet as we neared the end of the appointment, Hannah and Emily encouraged me to try on one final gown.
They were right.
The moment I put it on, I knew.
Knowing It Was “The One”
The dress didn’t feel like a costume. It didn’t feel trendy or overdone. It felt like me, just elevated.
The sculpted neckline, soft ruching, and elegant row of buttons down the back created a look that was striking without demanding attention. Instead of competing with me, the dress enhanced me.
Looking back now, I realize that was one of my first experiences understanding the difference between wearing something beautiful and wearing something that is beautiful on you.
As a stylist today, I often help women discover that same feeling.
A Wedding Day Memory I’ll Never Forget
Of course, there are countless moments from our wedding day that I’ll always treasure.
My husband’s incredibly personalized vows are at the top of the list, but one memory stands out right alongside them.
At the end of our cocktail hour, Matt Johnson from NBC’s The Voice performed “Tale as Old as Time” live for us and our guests. Everyone gathered on the terrace of our venue while he invited us to stand front and center.
Beauty and the Beast has always been one of our favorite movies, and hearing that song performed live was unforgettable. The setting, the music, and the joy of celebrating with the people we loved made it one of those moments that felt suspended in time.
Advice for Brides Planning Their Wedding
If I could offer one piece of advice to brides planning their weddings today, it would be this: focus on what matters most.
It’s easy to become consumed with the details; what food everyone will enjoy, what songs will get people dancing, or whether every design element feels picture-perfect. But the truth is, you can’t please everyone.
Instead, focus on how you want to feel. Focus on how you want to love your husband well. Focus on celebrating the covenant you’re making together.
The details matter, but they aren’t what people remember most.
And don’t wait too long to marry your person. The love you share is far more important than achieving perfection. When you’re confident, present, and deeply in love, everything else has a way of falling beautifully into place.
Sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t about finding the perfect dress, planning the perfect wedding, or creating the perfect aesthetic.
Sometimes they’re simply about discovering who you are and having the courage to embrace it.
I have loved following Victoria’s small business and seeing the many ways her wedding, love of personal style and faith have transitioned her into this venture!
